Ahhhhhhh, the smell of rain! One of my favorite smells! Can you have favorite smells? If not we should. I could definitely tell you my worst...but I'll refrain. Seriously, I love the way the rain smells, how it instantaneously makes everything brighter, cleaner, greener. We just stood on the steps of the porch and listened and breathed it in. Either it's very dry in our area or we are very bored? No, not bored, just very thankful for the rain, 'cause we sure needed it.
Hubby wanted the kids to see the double rainbow. Don't know if you can see the other one or not, but it was there. Scouts honor! Son #2 asked how it forms, where it ended and what was at the end of it. Of course I said, a pot of gold, but what I should have said was golden streets, because all I can think of when I see a rainbow is God's promise. At the end of every blessing, you find God! As for what makes a rainbow...again.....all God!
I hope and pray that when life dumps rain on me that I will be still and breathe it in. I've been guilty this past week of not breathing at all! I had to take a whipping at church yesterday for my bad attitude. I'm so glad he loves me enough to reprimand me! Keeps me in line!! I so need that!! The best part of all...he forgave me...again!
Bring on the rain!
Blessings to all,
Carrie

Whew...what a week. I'm looking for the weekend baby!! Why, I don't know? Because weekends are usually busier than my work week! Anyhoo, I'll be at home!
I sat down last night at the piano and turned to a song called, "We'll Talk It Over In The Bye & Bye", or something like that. BTW.....this piano is one I got from my MawMaw...you know the kind that sounds like an old bar piano:) Just a different sound than my other piano. I love it! I play the piano....for myself....mind you, unless I happen to be the only one at church on business night and my Dad makes me play. I have to pick the song:) That should clue you in on how skilled I am at playing the thing. I do love to try. My sister P is the master pianist. Enough of all that...on to the point...I think I have one......the song just summed up what I've been thinking lately. The song talks about how we get to ask the questions and He will tell the why, when we get to heaven. All these earthly trials and tribulations will make sense then. I look forward to the day when We talk it over! Chills people!!! Especially after hearing of the little boy, Trevor, who had this horrific accident.
Our problems are under His feet! That comforts me!
So, at the close of this work week, I want to hold my hands high and look up to the One who knows our tomorrows!
Have a Great Weekend Everyone!
Leaving you the words to the song....
Tho' shadows deepen, and my heart bleeds,I will not question the way He leads; This side of Heaven we know in part,I will not question a broken heart.
Chorus
We'll talk it over in the bye and bye. We'll talk it over, my Lord and I.I'll ask the reasons - He'll tell me why,When we talk it over in the bye and bye.
I'll trust His leading, He'll never fail,Thru darkest tunnels or misty vales.Obey his bidding and faithful be,Tho' only one step ahead I see.
Chorus
We'll talk it over in the bye and bye. We'll talk it over, my Lord and I.I'll ask the reasons - He'll tell me why,When we talk it over in the bye and bye.
I'll hide my heartache behind a smileAnd wait for reasons 'til after while. And tho' He try me, I know I'll findThat all my burdens are silver lined.
Chorus
We'll talk it over in the bye and bye. We'll talk it over, my Lord and I.I'll ask the reasons - He'll tell me why,When we talk it over in the bye and bye.

They found air pockets on Trevor’s brain. Also blood. She called asking us to keep praying. They say if he even moves, it could kill him.
I just received an update on Trevor:
He doesn’t have any brain damage. He has broken bones and they are concerned about his eye and eye socket. He is facing surgeries. Continue praying for him in the coming days of surgery and recovery.
As a Mom, I can't imagine the fear that would overwhelm you after hearing your child has been hurt so bad that he needed air transport. But God's grace is sufficient! Yesterday's devotion sums it up. "Give it to God! Look up and say, "Lord, I'm trusting You to do what I cannot do. Bring me through this. Here it is; I'm turning it over to You. My life, my future, and my all are in Your hands!" Ya'll just don't know how troubled I've been over some things, and wouldn't you know it....ask and you shall receive.....just when I needed to hear from Him, He showed up today with His answer too my dilemma through His Word and from His Vessels! Ain't God Good!!!! I want to thank Him and praise Him for loving me! My answer was summed up in these 4 words, "Stick to the plan!" I opened up my devotion and it was like the words just came off that page and slapped me across the face, saying, "wake up girl, you are under attack by Satan." And you know what? This too shall pass! He will make a way! I'll I've got to do is, HOLD ON! Yes, I will with everything in me, I will!
Sorry about all that, I was just sitting here after hearing better news about Trevor, and having me a happy spell and it was just in me and I had to get it out! Now, I feel better:) lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another Thankful Thursday! It is Well With My Soul!

Updated to add this from an email I received today from MIL!!
Thank you each for holding my hand somewhere along the way when I was facing a wave of my own. I hope you will reach for my hand when your own wave threatens.
All of us girls.. Old and young... Near and far... Hold special memories of good times we've shared. We've had our share of hard times when our friends were there to make us feel better. We've shared... our hearts our time our secrets our fears our hopes and our dreams.
Let us never break the chain of friends!
And the word says if 'I have not Love, I have nothing.'
So, again, love you. Love who you are. Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say
'I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!'
I like that!
Be Blessed ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.
'To the world you might be one person, But to one person you just might be the world'.
SEND THIS TO YOUR FAVORITE WOMEN - I JUST DID!

Thanks Iris for hosting Thankful Thursday!
Malachi 3:10 (King James Version)
10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Let me tell you my net has been broken by all the blessings God has sent my way! Was I prepared.....yes and no. I had prayed and prayed for my sons to be saved, but the moment it came....11 pm after a long day of work and a ballgame.......I was caught off guard. Thanks to the Good Lord, He whipped me into shape, lickety split! I was engulfed with the Holy Spirit that was radiating from my son and it overflowed onto his Dad and brother! What more can a Mother ask? Not one thing!!!
I heard again last night of another young man who received Christ as his Savior! Praise the Lord! I'm looking forward to Sunday to see another sweet boy be baptized. People it just can't get any better! The Lord is moving in a mighty way!!
So, today as I come with a thankful heart, I also want to request prayers for some dear friends of mine. Please pray for:

I'm famous for starting a project, then months later finishing it......welcome to my life.....btw.....maybe I should just leave it the way it is......to keep it real:) But my OCD won't let me!
I've posted a couple of photo shows that I've been trying to get up and going. No explanation needed on either of them......pictures tell a thousand words!
As for the new poll on my sidebar.......my friend TW emailed me that clip of Dolly a few weeks ago. Just so ya know....I voted, "strange!" She thinks it's so sad:( lol!!!!!!!!!!!! If you listen to the song, seeing you can get past her facial expressions and ventriloquist voice skill's, it is a sad story....but come on people.....just look at her:) lol!!!!!!!!!!! TW's hubby and his first cousin CB, both think it is hysterical and he went into this laughing so hard you can't breathe episode when she showed him the video. I'm with ya JW!!! So, be a pal and vote...please!! She's just gotta know she isn't the only person in the world who thinks this is sad:) lol!!!!!!
I haven't posted about Mom in a while, due to the fact that she has been doing quite well! She is still pushing herself to the limit, but hey, I give her an A for effort! One determined lady!! Today was her montly visit to B'ham, and all is well. She will go back on July 7th, for another heart cath......she hates this test....please pray it won't be as bad as the last one! After those results, they may put the port in her chest.
That about sums it up for now!
Blessings,

Our attendance seemed a bit off. However, the Holy Spirit was not! I enjoyed the lesson of, "Water Wonder", so much! Keeping our eyes on the Savior, because when we take them off for just one minute, we begin to drown, as did Peter. For some group talk, I asked the class to give me in one minute flat, a story of when they faced their fears. Oh what responses I got! Just ask Lisa...aka...the preachers wife:) lol!!!!!! It's amazing what kids consider a fear:) Anyway, we had good discussions, and I pray that something said or done at VBS will stir up a desire within to seek and know God.
I'll leave with you some pics of the hot, but oh so Blessed Day!
Voyagers!
The Craft Lady!
My niece J on her special day!
Last, but certainly not least.....our VBS Director...Iris!! Thanks for another great year!!

Update: Caden is home and appears to be doing fine. The doctors cannot explain what happened to cause him to quit breathing. They speculate it was the mucus. Thank you for your prayers. Continue to pray for him and his parents. It's going to be hard to bat an eye, wondering if this could happen again.
I received a call from my friend T last night around 9:30. She was crying so bad I couldn't understand much, except that her nephew had quit breathing. His name is Cayden, I hoped I spelled that correctly, and he is 4 weeks old. While having a family cookout, his aunt was holding him and he just arched his back and quit breathing for like a minute. The family began to pray and beg God to intervene. God did answer their prayer! He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is doing okay from the last report I got this morning.
The doctors cannot explain what happened. All the tests are coming back normal thus far. He is still in the hospital.
Please pray for these new parents and their family. I cannot fathom how much heartache and grief they are going through, just knowing that they almost lost their only son. My heart breaks for them. Please pray for God's healing to be upon the baby. Also, for the parents as they bring him home. Scared wouldn't begin to describe how they must feel. Not knowing is so hard.
What do know, is that God saved that little boy! God knows our every need! Had they not been at the cookout, he would have been in his crib. Goose bumps!
God is our refuge, our very help in times of trouble, our strength, our Redeemer, and from yesterday's SS lesson, our bridge builder.....another post, another day!
Pray on!

All God's children say, "Amen!"
I got the best text message this afternoon from my friend WL. Her son, BL, was saved tonight at their Bible School, along with 3 more! I've been praying for him and for all the lost. I know how burdened down she has been for the kids at her church and Sunday School class. Sometimes we feel as if they are not getting it, maybe we should do more, less, maybe they are tired of seeing our faces, someone could do better....the questions go on and on. All the while, they do get it, they are listening, God is moving!
My mind keeps going back to what my pastor was preaching on Sunday.........one more Lord, just one more. I feel the presence of the Lord so strong here on this mountain. He is moving in a mighty way!
This picture that WL took last night at Bible school says it all!
My cup runneth over!!
Thanks be to God for sending His Son to die on that cruel cross for such a sinner as I!
Lord Jesus I pray for one more!
Love to all,
Carrie
Thanks to Iris for hosting Thankful Thursday!
I have so much to be thankful for! First and foremost, both of my boys being saved at home a few weeks ago ranks at the top of my list this week....again!! Nothing compares to the Love of God!
I want to share something a read this week that struck a heart string of mine. This just cracked me up and had to share with ya'll. Especially since my two little boys are being baptized this Sunday. Oh, I can't wait until then. What a blessing to see both of my children baptized at the same time. Ain't God Good!
~ Two Little Boys ~
After a hardy rainstorm filled all the potholes in the streets and alleys,
a young mother watched her two little boys playing in the puddle through her
kitchen window.
The older of the two, a five year old lad, grabbed his sibling by the back of his
head and shoved his face into the water hole.
As the boy recovered and stood laughing and dripping, the mother runs to the
yard in a panic.
' Why on earth did you do that to your little brother?!' she asks as she shook
the older boy in anger.
'We were just playing 'church' mommy, ' he said.
'And I was baptizing him.....in the name of the Father, the Son and in...the
hole-he-goes.'
Thanks to my AIL, S, for sharing this typical brother thing. I've watched this scenario play out before my eyes on several occasions, only not in a mud hole, but a swimming pool:) How they love to horse around and play church at the same time:) Priceless!!!
Until then my heart will go on singing.................

Here's the Noxzema trick:
1) Apply over sunburn;
2) Let dry and leave on (do not wash off);
3) Put on your Dad's, Brother's, Husband's, etc......any man's white t-shirt.
Ahhhhh...brings back precious childhood memories of vacations gone bad:) due to excessive exposure to the sun...I can still feel the pain and itch:) Not to mention the ugly brown spots that are remnants of too much sun for this fair, freckled girl. I've switched from self tanners, which augmented my lovely spots, to Lubriderm's SPF 15 lotion, it's my new favorite thing! So, put your blinders on, it's short season, I'm wearing them, lily white legs and all:)
I was going to post this as a WFMW, but she has a theme to this weeks called, "Mom, I'm bored." I didn't think this would qualify as a bored buster for kids.........well, some kids may find lathering themselves in Noxzema a cool thing to do, but for the most part, the smell wards off youngsters:) lol!!!!! You know it involves clean:)
In the event you get a good case of sun poisoning, which I have had twice....once from tanning bed and once in March mowing the yard...go figure......, forget the Noxzema and head straight to the ER....cause your going to need something stronger than a topical analgesic! Just ask Hubby......I think he wanted to be treated for the pain and anguish I put him through getting me there:) lol!!!!
If you have any sunburn relief remedies please leave a comment. I would love to see what works for you! Besides using sunscreen:) lol!!!!!!!!!!! We use sunscreen, but sometimes fun trumps taking the time to apply it............oh the lessons we learn the hard way:)
Have a SPF day!

This is the weekend in pictures......in no particular order.....
This is what I saw at Mom's house Fri. evening........M's got it made....I miss those days of getting to nap:)
Saturday- I actually left the boys, after, I saw this.........at the new football practice field. BTW....thanks to all who have made this possible! The field...that is:)
Friday- Don't ask me about the score of the game....but the fireworks were out of this world!! Had a great time!
Friday
Me and S messing with the camera:)
Friday- Another tradition passed down to son #2. Except a more modern version, being that I saw it done with a horse pulling the plow......you know the old gee and haw (spelling...not so sure of), but maybe you get the drift. Unless you are like this young guy sitting in church one day when my Dad used the above reference to steering a horse/mule....I cracked up...I could hear him ask his grandmother, "what did he just say.":) lol!!!!!!!! I'm not that old either, Dad just has old fashion values and to go along with that, old equipment. Anyway, it made me smile and at the same time sad. He's growing up way to fast.
