Small Town Living

The nice part about living in a small town: When you don't know what you're doing, someone else always does.

A calendar full of baseball and prayers

That's what I'm looking at, and will be looking at for some time now. A calendar full of practices and games, among all the other life happenings around here. Baseball has begun. I love it! Really I do. I really, really do. Who am I trying to convince-me or you? lol!!!!

Really, I do like the sport. I enjoy watching my boys play. It's the longevity of it. February until August is a bit much if you ask me. And nobody does. Just saying:-)

Flip side.

With all the technology and other things that capture our youths attention, a little or lot of outdoor activity can't be a bad thing. It seems like everyday I hear of kids being overwhelmed with peer pressure and succumbing to it. As my boys are reaching the ages where a little more freedom is extended to them, I pray even harder for them. I've never been one to say, "my kid would never do that." All I can do is hope and pray that they will withstand satan's attempts to steal their youth. My heart is heavy tonight. Will you please join me in praying for them every night through the month of March? Not that they don't need our prayers everyday for the rest of their lives, but if we could really focus on them this month. God's Word promises that He hears the cries of His people. Just pause at bedtime each night and seek God's face on behalf of our youth. Let's pray a hedge around them!

I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment of encouragement for the youth. And remember to pray.

Carrie

I agree with you. They do need much prayer. Every year seems to bring more things that can side track them if not careful. I am glad to say while it not possible to raise perfect children, it is possible to teach them, church them, and pray continually for them. I'm thankful to say it does pay off. They may wavor from time to time but they will always know in their hearts right from wrong.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Youth stand firm in what you have been taught even when the world cast desires before you.

Amen sister! It seems that every single night there is news reported of some challenge/temptation that young people today face! I am just amazed and terrified for them! I will be praying for them daily! and for you as you parent them...

Praying for the youth that God will give them Strength to Stand Firm, Wisdom to say No to Temptations and Courage to say Yes to His ways.

We definitely need to keep our young people in our prayers. The world is just full of things that can distract them. I am so glad that my 3 girls are past teenage years. Now I have grandbabies that I need to start praying for RIGHT NOW. It isn't too early.

"I lift our youth up to YOU and ask that You would put a hedge of protection around them. Protect their spirit, body, mind and emotions from any kind of evil or harm. I pray specifically for protection from any kind of abuse. I pray they will make their refuge "in the shadow of YOUR wings" until "these calamities have passed by" Psalm 57:1. Hide them from any kind of evil influences that would come against them. Keep them safe from any hidden dangers and let no weapons formed against them be able to prosper. Thank You, LORD, for YOUR many promises of protection. Help them to walk in YOUR ways and in obedience to YOUR will so that they never come out from under the umbrella of that protection. Keep them safe in all they do and wherever they go. In Jesus' name, I pray!

You have a powerful sphere of influence not only with the kids but with the parents on the ballfield. I will pray that many of those will see Christ in you and want what you have! Have a great season, they pass all too quickly.
